Endotracheal tubes are used to provide a clear airway between a mechanical ventilator through the mouth, pharynx, and trachea into the tracheobronchial tree of patients suffering of respiratory failure. Often, secretions and debris (biofilm) begin to accumulate on the inside walls of the endotracheal tubes shortly.
Blank Innovations has successfully developed of a prototype which functions as a proof of concept and a tool for collecting information to define the engineering input-requirements to develop a commercial product.
